2012 Namtso Lake Int’l Walking Convention holds press conference in Beijing

On June 29 2012, Namtso Lake International Walking Convention held a press conference in Beijing.

2012 Namtso Lake International Walking Convention will be held between August 13 and August 20 when Tibet will celebrate its Shoton Festival, a very important folkloric festival. So the Walking Convention includes a lot of activities.

During the Walking Convention around Namtso Lake, participants can go camping by the lake and enjoy a campfire party. They can also donate for the construction of a local library as a public welfare activity. Then all the participants will be invited to enjoy the inauguration of this year’s Shoton Festival as well as visit the beautiful natural sceneries and human landscapes in Tibet.

Tibet Autonomous Region has celebrated six Walking Conventions since 2006. With the purpose of presenting the Tibetan National characteristics, promoting international cultural exchanges, eco - tourism resources in Lhasa as well as enhancing low-carbon life, Namtso Lake International Walking Convention is striving to become the leading brand of Lhasa- Namtso tourism, said Hu Yong, the deputy governor of Dangxiong County, Tibet Autonomous Region.
