On June 9, a grand martial arts performance was staged to celebrate China’s seventh Cultural Heritage Day in Tagou Wushu School in central China’s Henan Province. A total of 10,000 boys participated in the performance.

In 2005, the Chinese government has established a national "Cultural Heritage Day" to be celebrated annually on the second Saturday of June in order to promote the protection of its rich cultural resources. The Day was first celebrated on June 10, 2006.

China has 2,351 historic sites and 518 articles of intangible cultural heritage. Nearly 400,000 fixed relics have been registered on the mainland and another 20 million movable relics in museums.
