Hollywood blockbuster 'The Grey' to open in China

BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhuanet) --The Hollywood blockbuster "The Grey" is set to open on the mainland next week.

Starring Liam Neeson, the action-thriller is about a group of oil rig workers who must fight for their lives in the Alaskan wilderness after their airplane crashes miles from civilization.

The group find themselves battling not only the extreme elements but a pack of hungry wolves.

"The Grey" is one of the 34 foreign films allowed to be shown on the Chinese mainland under the foreign movie quota.

Superhero flick "The Avengers" is also now playing in Chinese cinemas and it's been announced box office hit "The Hunger Games" will also be showing early next month.

"The Grey" hits cinemas here on the mainland next Friday.
