The Miss China Tourism International Contest 2012 kicked off in Guangyuan, a city of southwest China's Sichuan Province on May 1. Contestants from 60 countries and regions all over the world gathered in Guangyuan, the hometown of Wu Zetian, the only woman in the history of China to assume the title of Empress in Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), to compete for the final title and the chance of being image ambassador for the city.
