Luo people tribe celebrates most important festival

Chengzhai, a little-known village in Lipo County, southwest China's Yunnan Province, is an ancient tribe with an origin lost in the mists of antiquity. People here are called Luo people belonging to Luo Nationality, a branch of China's Yi Nationality.

The village has 411 residents, in 94 families. The Luo nationality has their ancient culture, particular life customs and unique clothes and ornaments. Qiaocai Festival, falling on the first dragon day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar, is the most important festival for the Luo people.
