YINCHUAN, China, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- National Ice-fishing Invitation Game kicked off in Yinchuan, the capital city of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, on Saturday.

The game attracted over 220 fishing lovers from around China. After two truns, Tang Yuankun from Lingwu county of Ningxia won the final with a prize of 10,000 yuan (about 1,650 U.S. dollars).

"It's the last one of the 31 national fishing games in 2011 and also the first national ice-fishing game sponsored by China's General Administration of Sports," said Li Xiaolin, the president of Ningxia Fishing Association.

Yinchuan, renowned for its "72 rivers" in history, boasts many natural lakes and rivers. The rich fish resource and moderate winter temperature makes it a nice choice for ice-fishing lovers.
