"Wei" announced as "the Chinese Character of 2011" in Taipei

Calligraphers from Chinese mainland and Taiwan write down the Chinese character "Wei" in various script styles in Taipei, southeast China's Taiwan, Dec. 8, 2011. The character, meaning "tiny" or "minute", was announced as "the Chinese Character of 2011" Thursday in Taipei, beating another 41 candidates in an internet polling among netizens from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
