Beauty of Xinjiang shown in paintings

The South And North Tianshan Mountain Chinese Art Exhibition kicked off on Nov. 12 in the National Art Museum of China.

More than 300 painting works depicting sceneries of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in different periods since 20th century were displayed in the exhibition.

These paintings, including the masterpieces of several generations of Chinese artists reviewed and summarized the achievement of Xinjiang scenery paintings since the foundation of the People's Republic of China, showing the landscape of honest folk custom, life of frontier guards, the cultural relics of the ancient Silk Road as well as the cultural features of the contemporary Xinjiang.
