Second NY Chinese Film Festival kicks off

Beijing, Nov.9 (People's Daily Online) --The second New York Chinese Film Festival kicked off in New York on Nov. 8, 2011. A number of renowned Chinese celebrities showed up at the opening ceremony of the festival.

Co-sponsored by the China Central Television Movie Channel (CCTV-6) and the Chinese American Arts Council, the festival offers dialogue between China and the United States and gives Chinese filmmakers the opportunity to screen films in North America.

The festival also presents an opportunity for Americans to become aware of Chinese culture. (Li Zhenyu)
