On the road at the Morumbi stadium against Sao Paulo in the 13th round of the 2011 Brazilian Championship, Vasco da Gama shocked the home crowd by winning 2-0 on Sunday.

Vasco da Gama marked its first win at Morumbi since 2002.

After a scoreless first half, Vasco da Gama netted its first goal in the seventh minute of the second half. With great vision, midfielder Diego Souza launched a pass to Eder Luis down the right side of the field. Catching up to the ball, Eder Luis pounded a shot that crashed into the upper right goalpost and ricocheted into the goal.

Vasco da Gama's second goal came in stoppage time when Felipe rolled a great ball off Jumar who blasted the shot past a helpless veteran keeper Rogerio Ceni and into the upper left corner of the goal.

The result improves Vasco da Gama to fifth place with 24 points. In the next round of play the team will receive Santos on August 3.

Sao Paulo had the chance to reclaim first place of the tournament due to leader Corinthians' 3-2 loss to Avai. However, the loss keeps Sao Paulo stationed in third place with 25 points. In the next round of play the team will host Bahia on August 4.
