China won the women's 3,000-meter relay at the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships on Sunday, according to the official website of ISU.
China had battled South Korea throughout the entire race. South Korea had crossed the line first but was given a penalty for interference on the Chinese team. Canada took silver, while Italy, who had fallen behind the leaders just after the midway point, earned a bronze.
This is the fourth consecutive time China has claimed the title. China got empty-handed in the event at the Sochi Winter Games last month due to penalty.
In the men's 5,000m relay final, all four teams exchanged the lead throughout the race and entering the last lap it was anyone's race. The Netherlands, the defending champions, finished first, and South Korea took second, while Britain crossed the line in third place. Russia came in the fourth.
The ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2014 was closed Sunday in Montreal, Canada.
