Playing in the same group as Inbee Park (65), American Cristie Kerr (66) matched the South Korean world No. 1 almost shot for shot as the two players finished at eight-under to share the halfway lead at the CN Canadian Women's Open Friday.

"It's always fun to play with Inbee. She always plays well, and I enjoy playing with her," said Kerr who missed her chance to take the outright lead when she bogeyed the final hole after getting distracted by the sound of a slamming door on a nearby portable toilet at Royal Mayfair Golf Club.

"It's a course you really have to shape the ball off the tee and be creative. I played very well the last couple of days," said the 16-time winner on the U.S. LPGA Tour. "It's unfortunate I bogeyed the last hole today, it's what happens when you hit an errant shot and have to chip out to a difficult pin."

First round co-leader Angela Stanford (68) was one shot back with France's Karine Icher (66), while 16-year-old amateur Lydia Ko (69), the defending champion, was two shots off the pace in a group with England's Laura Davies (66) and American Paula Creamer (68).

China's Feng Shanshan was eight shots back after a two-over 72 to sit even par through 36 holes and safely make the weekend play.

Park, a winner of six tournaments this year, including three major titles, came out blazing when she birdied five of her first seven holes. After a bogey four at the par-three 11th, she then reeled off three consecutive birdies starting at the 14th hole before finishing with a bogey five at the last to finish deadlocked with Kerr at eight-under 132.
