BEIJING, Oct. 8 (People's Daily Online) -- The China Tennis Open 2012 concluded yesterday in Beijing with a wealth of global stars' participation.
Top-seeded Victoria Azarenka won her fifth title of the year by dominating second-seeded Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-1 at the China Open on Sunday.
On the men's side, top-seeded Novak Djokovic extended his perfect record by defeating third-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France 7-6 (4), 6-2 in the final.
Although Chinese superstar Li Na was defeated by Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-0 in the semifinals, she managed to dethrone the defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 6-4, 6-2 and earned the final singles berth at this year's WTA Championships.
