Asian youth basketball championship unveils in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The 22nd FIBA Asian Championship Under 18 raised its curtain here in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia on Thursday.

A total of 16 teams including China, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, will compete at the 11-day events which is scheduled to be concluded on Aug. 26.

The 16 teams were divided into four groups. China and Chinese Hong Kong are both in Group A and the two teams will start their first match on Aug. 17 at the national sports stadium of Mongolia.

The top three teams will qualify for the world's U-18 basketball championship.
