BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- With only 17 days to go before the opening of London Olympic Games, Yu Juemin, head coach of Chinese women's basketball team is not sure whether top striker Wang Yimei will be healthy enough for the team's group opener.

The injury-haunted Wang Yimei has suffered ankle ligament damage for two months. Now Wang has joined her teammates in the last few weeks of preparation for London Games. With her powerful spikes and rich international experience, Wang is now the unrivalled queen of Chinese volleyball.

"Wang has been recovering well from the injury. After such a big surgery, Wang only needed 60 days to recover to a good level. Both her medical team and herself have made a lot of hard work," said Yu on Tuesday.

"But it is not sure whether Wang could be fit to play in China's first match in London as she is still trying to catch up with the whole team and trying to adapt to intensive training," he added.

China will play in the same pool in London along with defending champion Brazil, world's No.1 U.S., Serbia, Turkey and South Korea. Italy, Russia, Japan, Algeria, the Dominican Republic and host Britain make up the other six-team pool.

The top four teams to emerge out of each pool will play the quarterfinals. China will play the first game against Serbia at Earls Court on July 28.
