VIENNA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Henry Sugut created a new record for the Vienna City Marathon on Sunday when he finished the 42.195-kilometer run in 2 hours 6 minutes 58 seconds.
The former mark - 2:07:38 - was set by Abel Kirui, also a Kenyan, in 2008.
The first seven positions all belong to Kenyans. Gilbert Yegon came second in 2:07:38, and John Kiprotich, last year's winner, was third place in 2:07:44.
It was by far the fastest race in the 29 editions of the event.
