ULAN BATOR, March 25 (Xinhua) -- China dominated the 6th Asian Women's Boxing Championship, which concluded here on Sunday, with five gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
China, who topped the medal tally, sent 10 boxers to the tournament and every boxer had won a medal. Liu Kejia, Wang Dongmei, Li Jinzi, Yuan Meiqing and Li Yunfei gained gold medals in 54kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, and over 81kg categories.
Host Mongolia won 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals, finishing third on the tally. Tumurhuyag Bolortuul and Erdenesoyol Uyanga won the golds in the 48kg and 64kg categories.
India also made good performances during this tournament. Two gold, four silver and two bronze medals enabled the team to obtain the second place.
The remaining gold medal for the 57kg category was grabbed by Thai boxer Tassamalee Thongjan.
The tournament which began on March 16 attracted nearly 100 boxers from 17 countries and regions including China, Mongolia, Afghanistan, India, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea and DPR Korea.
