S. Korean gymnast Jo Hyunjoo suffers cervical vertebra injury at Universiade

SHENZHEN, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's Jo Hyunjoo suffered an injury to her cervical vertebra after falling off the uneven bars during the women's all-around final at the World University Games here on Monday.

She was stretchered off the field and was sent to a medical room in the stadium. Medical staff said that she might have her cervical vertebra injured and needs further observation.

Jo was ranked first in the preliminary round and was the favorite to win the gold medal.
