SHENZHEN, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- South Korean gymnast Jo Hyunjoo, who suffered an injury during the women's all-around final, has been freed from hospital, a spokesperson of the World University Games said on Monday.

The spokesperson said that Jo just suffered a soft tissue injury to her neck, instead of a cervical vertebra fracture which was originally feared. Jo left the Shenzhen No. 2 hospital after receiving some treatment.

Jo was stretchered off the field and sent to the hospital after falling off the uneven bars.

She was ranked first in the preliminary round and was the favorite to win the gold medal.
