On Oct. 17, the International Cooperation Forum on China's Intellectual Property was held in San Francisco.

China is one of the most attractive countries in the world for foreign investment, said Chong Quan, the deputy international trade representative at China's Ministry of Commerce at the forum. More than 470 of the top 500 global enterprises have settled in China.

In 2010, China absorbed foreign investment of more than 105 billion U.S. dollars, with an increase of 17.4 percent compared with last year, which hit a historical high. China has been among the world's developing countries that attract most foreign investment for 19 consecutive years.

Multinational corporations currently have more than 1,200 research and development centers in China. Foreign investment enterprises have become an important part of China's research and development as well as innovation activities.
