Beijing, Sept. 6 (People's Daily Online)--European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) launched its primary annual publication – "13th annual edition of European Business in China Position 2013/14" in Beijing today. The Position Paper indicates that economic restructuring is now prerequisite for China to maintain economic growth.
The Position Paper believes the transformation of China's economic structure should focus on its market force. China's strong emphasis on technological and scientific development has played a key role in driving economic growth. EU chamber believes China has many opportunities for economic development; China's economy needs a growing innovation output to move up the value chain.
The Position Paper suggests China should integrate international practices into domestic policies through better engagement and leadership in international standards and regulatory bodies, and through taking an active role in the expansion and evolution of international trade and investment framework rule. This will assist the internationalization of Chinese companies and improve China's global reputation.
This edition of the Position Paper was formulated over six-month consultative process by 34 working groups. It aims to better the Chinese business environment and promote China's sustainable economic growth. In the year to come, EU chamber will present the Position Paper to relevant Chinese authorities to identify possibilities to cooperate together to promote the implementation of these recommendations.
