China's first lawsuit filed by consumers against Apple Inc's after-sales services was accepted Tuesday by the People's Court of Lixia District in Ji'nan, capital of East China's Shandong Province, a lawyer of the plaintiff said Wednesday.
The consumer surnamed Bi bought two Apple products but he found the warranty period of the two products was shortened after a repair, violating the regulatory requirement of one-year warranty, said Ma Liwu, Bi's lawyer at Shandong-based Kang Qiao Law Firm.
Bi contacted Apple's customer services department several times and sought help from local consumers association and authorities without any success, so he filed a lawsuit on June 18 against Apple.
