A consortium of 25 European solar manufacturers recently filed an anti-dumping complaint with the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union, against solar products imported from China, following the limited success of the U.S. anti-dumping and countervailing investigations into China’s solar exports.

China exports more than 90 percent of its solar products to the European market, so an anti-dumping duty imposed by the European Union would be a new “nightmare” for Chinese solar companies that are already facing hard times.

Industry insiders said that it may force the Chinese government to accelerate expanding domestic solar market, as can be seen from the recent series of policies introduced by the government.
