(Global Times)

08:47, July 13, 2012

The Ministry of Culture released the 12th five-year plan for the development of China's animation industry Thursday. One of the major objectives of the plan is to cultivate five to 10 leading domestic animation companies during the period.

The ministry aims to accomplish this goal by promoting the creation, development and production of original Chinese animated content.

By 2015, the ministry hopes local studios can produce 5,000 hours of animated content and 30 animated films annually.
