The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs recently set up an international cooperation research center in association with Capinfo Company, and designated the company as a base for introducing high-caliber foreign experts.

Capinfo will carry out cooperation with California-based San Jose State University in information technology, particularly in the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and embedded systems, so as to create a cooperation platform for academic exchanges, laboratory experiments, and talent training.

An official from the bureau said that along with the establishment of the base for introducing high-caliber foreign experts, Beijing will attract more experts from high-level foreign research institutions, and build a two-way talent flow mechanism instead of only introducing experts from abroad. The city will build more such bases and strengthen efforts to attract high-caliber foreign experts.

Beijing introduced and funded more than 3,500 experts from abroad during the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-2010). These foreign experts have played an important role in helping the city's research institutions make technological breakthroughs in areas such as modern agriculture, water resources and environmental protection, advanced manufacturing, information technology, new energy, and new materials.
