Shang Fulin, chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) said at a meeting that CBRC will continue differentiated regulatory policy to better serve small and micro businesses.

CBRC provides differentiated financial services for small and micro enterprises. For instance, banks are required to issue special financial bonds for the development of small and micro businesses. If a single amount of loan for small and micro enterprises is less than 5 million yuan, the loan will not be accounted into the deposit ratio.

Data from CBRC shows that as of the end of 2011, loans for Chinese small business have amounted to 10.8 trillion yuan, accounting for 20 percent of total loans. Also by the end of 2011, the non-performing loan stood at 210.7 billion yuan, 43.5 billion yuan less than that of the beginning of 2011. The non-performing ratio was 2.02 percent, 0.95 percentage points lower than the beginning of 2011.
