CNTV, Tencent join hands to develop Internet TV

On March 21, the Future TV Company Limited, an Internet TV operation enterprise under the CNTV, declared in Beijing that it will carry out strategic cooperation with the Tencent Company to promote the development of China's Internet TV industry. The Tencent Company's value-added business will be brought into the Internet TV platform.

CNTV is a new media platform of the CCTV. Currently, the CCTV has 1.2 billion audiences and the Tencent Company has as many as 1,700 Internet applications and more than 700 million active users.

The cooperation will effectively integrate the powerful brand and abundant content and resources of the CCTV and the sophisticated Internet applications of the Tencent Company.

“Many Internet applications will enter the living room,” said Ma Huateng, the board chairman and CEO of Tencent.
