On the evening of Feb. 14, Apple Inc. broke silence for the first time and gave a short statement, saying that it has bought Proview Technology's trade market right of the iPad in 10 different countries, but Proview refused to honor the agreement involving China.

"Proview refuses to honor their agreement with Apple, and a Hong Kong court has sided with Apple in this matter," according to the statement, which also said the case is still pending on the Chinese mainland.

Xie Xianghui, the lawyer representing the Proview Technology, said Apple’s statement is inaccurate.

“Apple’s lawsuit against Proview is still in the process of exchanging proofs and a court session has not opened yet. How can the Apple Inc. say the court in Hong Kong is supporting it?”

After Apple gave its first public statement due to pressures from various aspects, the situation is still developing. Proview is still pressuring Apple.
