The United States should treat the Chinese enterprises equally and avoid to dampening the enthusiasm of Chinese enterprises making investments in the United States with its investment review policies.

In the past six years, the United States’ exports to China enjoyed a higher growth than that of imports from China and bilateral trade has been developing in a more balanced direction.

In the investment field, two-way investment of the two nations saw a rapid growth. The United States has made an accumulative investment of 67.6 billion U.S. dollars in China, becoming one of China’s largest sources of foreign investment.

Meanwhile, the Chinese enterprises are enthusiastic about making investments in the United States and speeding up their pace of investing. They have made an accumulative direct non-financial investment of more than 6 billion U.S. dollars in the United States.

The volume of the China-U.S. trade reached a record 446.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2011, registering a year-on-year increase of 16 percent. The United States’ exports to China surpassed 100 billion U.S. dollars for the first time, reaching 122.1 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 20 percent compared to the previous year.

Yu Jianhua, assistant minister of Ministry of Commerce, said that the China-U.S. trade and investment scale is continuously expanding and it’s normal that some contradictions and frictions exist in their economic and trade cooperation. Only by means of cooperation instead of pressure and confrontation, can both parties effectively solve the problems facing both countries' economic and trade cooperation.

In the future, both parties should expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation by means of expanding bilateral trade, two-way investments, exploring new areas of cooperation, strengthening cooperation in infrastructure construction.
