China's logistics cost totals 8.4 trillion yuan in 2011

Recently, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, National Development and Reform Commission and National Bureau of Statistics jointly published China's national logistics data of 2011.

Total logistics cost in China was 8.4 trillion yuan, up 18.5 percent compared to that of 2010. The logistics cost was still relatively high for its economic operation. In 2011, China's total logistics cost accounted for 17.8 percent of the GDP.

Of the logistics cost, the transport cost reached 4.4 trillion yuan, up 15.9 percent; the management cost amounted to 1 trillion yuan, up 18.7 percent; and the storage cost was 2.9 trillion yuan, up 22.6 percent.

China's total value of social logistics goods grew steadily in 2011, and the total value of the whole year was 158.4 trillion yuan, up 12.3 percent compared to that of 2010 according to the comparable price. But the growth rate decreased by 2.7 percentage points.
