EU export to China booms in first ten months of 2011

European Union's exports to China increased 21 percent in the first ten months of 2011, and its imports from China increased 5 percent, according to data released by the European Union on Feb. 13.

China became the second largest trade partner of the European Union, accounting for 9 percent of its exports and 17 percent of its imports.

Germany's exports to China reached 70.1 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 48 percent of the E.U.'s total exports to China. It was followed by France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Germany is also the number one importer of Chinese products in the E.U. It imported products worth 71.2 billion U.S. dollars, which accounted for 22 percent of the E.U.’s total imports value.
