Chile's industrial production up 6.3% in 2011

SANTIAGO, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chile's industrial production grew 6.3 percent in 2011, the largest increase in seven years, the Industrial Promotion Society (Sofofa) said Thursday.

Sofofa said in a statement that last year the industries which were more affected by the catastrophic 2010 earthquake reported an inter-annual average increase of 15.3 percent, while the ones less affected grew 2.7 percent.

The organization also projected an increase between 1.5 percent and 2.5 percent for 2012.
