According to the General Administration of Customs of China, the “standard language” for the international trade commodity classification, Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (edition 2012) (“HS” for short), will be implemented globally on Jan.1 of 2012.

The “airport aerobridge”, a China-made high-tech product that accounts for more than 40 percent of the global trade volume of aerobridges, special Chinese “lily” and “Pu'er tea” are listed on the new-edition catalogue and annotation for the first time, indicating that China has completed the significant transformation from a user of the HS to an establisher of the HS.
