China's industrial profits up 25 percent

The profits of China's industrial enterprises above a certain scale were up 25.3 percent in the first 10 months of 2011 from the same period of a year earlier, which was 1.7 percentage points lower than that of the first three quarters, according to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Nov. 27.

The year-on-year growth rate in the profits of industrial enterprises above a certain scale has continued to drop since the start of 2011, falling from an increase of 34.3 percent for the first two months to 28.7 percent for the first half before reaching 25.3 percent for the first 10 months.

According to the report, the profits of the industrial enterprises totaled 4.1 trillion yuan in the first 10 months. The profits in October were up 12.5 percent to 438 billion yuan.

The main business turnover of the industrial enterprises was up 29 percent to 68 trillion yuan in the first 10 months, with a profit margin of 6 percent.

The threshold of the industrial enterprises above a certain scale is annual business turnover of at least 20 million yuan.
