In recent years, the average customs clearance times of import and export goods in China have been respectively shortened by 43 percent and 16 percent after a series of reforms, including classified clearance, paperless clearance and other convenient clearance measures.

Yu Guangzhou, Minister of the General Administration of China Customs, said at the World Customs and Trade Forum 2011 on Nov. 24 that the fate of the global economy remains uncertain at this time, and as a country's gateway, customs should pay more attention to the establishment of smooth communication channels to jointly promote global trade development and economic prosperity.

On 26/11/2011 My cargoes was stuck at Shenzhen check point until today 02/12/2011 already 7th days. I was informed the custom has suddenly enforce major thorough check since then. I am in a dilemma of losing business because unacceptable waiting time not to mention the extra charge incur. Please try to look into this matter seriously.

On Saturday 2011-11-26 like many thousands of disgusted others, I spent 2 hours (11 am to 1 pm) in a vehicle waiting to cross from Shenzhen to HK and THEN we spent another 30 minutes waiting to have the same custom checks to go from the Shenzhen (the commercial barometer if China) checkpoint to the HK checkpoint. AND this bureaucratic childish arrogant madness was aggravated by 4 of the checkpoints being closed by absent officers. Hasn’t the executive government told the customs officials at Shenzhen that the Chinese economy is in trouble and business people need encouragement to increase business to and from China not wasting time and looking for ways to not business travel between Shenzhen and HK?
