Airport in Zhangjiajie now takes foreign planes

Beijing, Nov.21 --The takeoff of a South Korean Asiana Airlines plane from Hehua Airport in Hunan Province on Nov. 18, 2011 marked start of international service here.

The Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport has opened regional air lines to Hong Kong and Macao as well as international charted planes to Seoul and Pusan of South Korea, Fukuoka and Osaka of Japan and other cities. It has opened 56 domestic and regional airlines and 16 international airlines in total.

In 2010, Zhangjiajie received 24 million Chinese and foreign tourists, which generated 12.5 billion yuan in revenue for the city. It is expected that the number of tourists received by Zhangjiajie will exceed 30 million in 2011 and Zhangjiajie will continue to be the leader of Chinese tourist attractions of the same kind.
