Beijing, Nov.9 (People's Daily Online) --Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei province, will transform itself into a national logistics center in five years.

Wuhan, currently the shipping center of the Yangtze River, is also one of the four largest railway hubs in China, making it an ideal city for a logistics center.

During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the logistics business exploded in Wuhan. The turnover in logistics totaled about 1.5 trillion yuan in 2010.

Wuhan plans to become a logistics center in five years, with an aim of doubling the added value of its logistics industry from 56.2 billion yuan in 2010 to 120 billion yuan by 2015.

To achieve this goal, Wuhan will launch a series of logistics projects and provide some favorable policies to attract some logistics enterprises.
