Beijing, Nov.9 (People's Daily Online) --Before the annual meeting of the Summer Davos, the World Economic Forum released the Global Competitiveness Report 2011-2012, which said China's competitiveness rose from 27th to 26th, taking a lead among the BRICs.
Both South Africa and Brazil's rankings have risen, respectively reaching 50th and 53rd. But India and Russia fell to 56th and 66th, respectively.
The top three in terms of global competitiveness this year are Switzerland, Singapore and Sweden. The United Stated fell to fifth from fourth last year.
China's global competitiveness ranking has been rising since 2005. The 2011-2012 report gave a high evaluation of China's macro-economic environment, which ranked 10th among 142 economic entities.
