BEIJING, Nov. 4 (People's Daily Online) -- According to preliminary calculations of the General Administration of Customs (GAC), China's total import and export values exceeded 3 trillion U.S. dollar as of Nov. 2, hitting a record high.

Despite global economic uncertainties, China's foreign trade maintained steady growth this year, the GAC said in a brief statement on its website.

According to the statement, China's imports and exports exceeded the symbolic 1-trillion-U.S.-dollar mark and 2-trillion-U.S.-dollar mark in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
