(Global Times)

China's automaking industry growth has slowed since the beginning of this year compared to the past few years, but growth is still relatively high, Dong Yang, executive vice president and secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said over the weekend.

He predicted that the country's auto industry will see an annual increase rate of 10 percent to 15 percent in the next five years, supported by China's continuing urbanization and industrialization.

The industry has become a pillar of the national economy over the past five years, and in the next five years, Chinese auto manufacturers will make cutting emissions a priority.
