Chinese stocks close 0.37 pct higher Monday

BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.37 percent, or 9.02 points to end at 2,440.40.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.72 percent, or 75.23 points, to 10,513.49.
