China stocks close down on Monday

BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's stocks declined on Monday, the first trading day this month after a seven-day National Day Holiday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.61 percent, or 14.43 points, to close at 2,344.79 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.18 percent, or 121.59 points, to finish at 10,170.75.
