Israel warns Gazans not to approach borders

GAZA, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Israeli aircraft Tuesday dropped leaflets warning residents of the Gaza Strip to stay away for 300 meters from the Gaza-Israel border, after three days of violence.

According to the leaflets, the Israeli army would take " necessary steps" to distance anybody from the fence, including firing in case of necessity. Moreover, it warned the Palestinians from cooperating with militants.

The Israeli army often targets Palestinians if they approached the buffer zone along the fence of the Gaza Strip.

This is not the first time that the Israeli army distributed similar leaflets to reaffirm an earlier decision to stop the Palestinian militants from firing rockets into Israel.

The Gaza Strip is witnessing a wave of violence for three days. Israeli air attacks have killed 12 Palestinians, all of them militants, while one Israeli was killed and several others injured by rocket-fire from Gaza.

Egypt has been trying to broker a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza groups, but Israel Radio quoted a senior official from the Israeli foreign ministry as saying they are unaware of reports that a cease-fire had been agreed.
