13:12, August 17, 2011

TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that the top leader of Turkey's outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) had not been arrested by Iran.

Mehmanparast rejected during the weekly press briefing the reports concerning the arrest of PKK's second top leader Murat Karayilan by the Iranian security forces and said that some media reports were not accurate.

Turkish media reported Saturday that the Islamic Republic arrested the second top leader of PKK Murat Karayilan.

Iranian officials on Monday dismissed the reports.
