Clashes erupt ahead of Mubarak's trial

CAIRO, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- At least one was injured after clashes erupted between supporters and opponents of Egypt's ex- president Hosni Mubarak who is expected to appear in court in Cairo on Monday. The crowds at the Police Academy threw stones and bottles at each other, a Xinhua reporter witnessed. One person was injured in the head and treated at the scene.

Police were trying to separate the crowds. An ambulance arrived at the scene.

The second session of the trial of Mubarak and his two sons were expected to start on Monday.
