MOSCOW, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited an aviation plant in the eastern Siberian city of Ulan-Ude on Tuesday, local media reported.
Kim, who arrived in Ulan-Ude Tuesday morning, headed to the village of Turka in Buryatia's Pribaikal district, where the Baikal Haven special tourist zone is under construction, reported Itar-Tass news agency.
After taking on a boat trip around Baikal, the DPRK top leader visited an aviation plant and then returned to his special train, said the report.
Kim, who started the week-long tour in Russia on Saturday, visited a hydropower plant in the Far East region Sunday and is expected to meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Wednesday in the village of Sosnovy Bor, 50 km from Ulan-Ude.
