09:41, August 24, 2011

MOSCOW, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Progress M-11M spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station Tuesday, said the Mission Control Center outside Moscow.

The spaceship would remain in orbit for a nine-day mission before falling into the Pacific, according to a statement by the mission control center.

The ISS crew has loaded the spacecraft with waste products from the orbiting station.

During the following nine days, the Progress will conduct an experiment aimed at defining the density, sizes and reflectivity of the ionosphere environment around the station, said the statement.

After that the spaceship will be de-orbited and burn up in the Earth's atmosphere. Its fragments will fall into the remote area of the Pacific ocean.

The launch of next Progress cargo ship is planned on Aug. 24 from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan. It will dock with ISS on Aug. 26.
