Fire breaks out at 5-star hotel in Turkey

ISTANBUL, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out at a 5-star hotel in Turkey's Mediterranean province of Antalya on Monday leaving five staff members suffering from smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out in a kitchen chimney and spread to the top floor of the hotel resulting in the evacuation of tourists staying at the hotel, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported. The report did not mention the name of the hotel in Antalya's tourist region of Lara.

The cause of the fire has yet to be found.

The five staff members who suffered from smoke inhalation were treated onsite by medical crews dispatched to the scene.

The Chief of the Antalya Municipality Fire Department was quoted as saying that the fire has been extinguished and teams are working to get rid of the smoke that has filled the building.
