Mladic to hospital for operation

THE HAGUE, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Former Bosnian Serb army chief Ratko Mladic was taken to the hospital in The Hague on Wednesday evening, the Yugoslavia tribunal said here on Thursday.

A spokesperson of the Yugoslavia tribunal said Mladic's condition is not life endangering. The Serbian broadcast company B92 reported that Mladic will be operated on by a groin rupture.

The health of Ratko Mladic has been the center of discussions for a long time. The former army chief is reportedly seriously ill.
