SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- The first Steve Jobs- approved biography, titled "Steve Jobs: A Biography" , is scheduled to release on Nov. 21, U.S. book retailer Barnes and Noble said on its website on Monday.

According to the overview on the website, the book is 448 pages long and based on over 40 interviews with Steve Jobs in addition to interviews with his family and friends.

Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published, said the overview.

"I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of, such as getting my girlfriend pregnant when I was 23 and the way I handled that. But I don't have any skeletons in my closet that can't be allowed out. " Jobs was quoted in the overview as saying.

The release date is a big lead from the previously announced March 6, 2012. The cover of the biography is one of the most iconic pictures of Jobs, in which the scraggly bearded Apple CEO posed for camera with one hand up to his chin.

The biography was written by well-known author Walter Isaacson who has written popular biographies of Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin and Henry Kissinger.

The book is now available for pre-order for 20.40 U.S. dollars (list price 32.5 dollars) with Barnes & Noble digital book available for 14.99 dollars.
